Refugee Rights Day, marked every year on April 4th, is an occasion to celebrate the advances made in the protection of refugee rights in Canada, especially through the Singh Decision. On this day in 1985, the Supreme Court found that the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects the fundamental rights of refugees.

Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW) is a community legal clinic funded by Legal Aid Ontario. The mission of LAW is to enhance access to justice by providing integrated legal and social work services to marginalized and low-income people in Windsor-Essex. This includes, but is not limited to, individual and systematic advocacy. LAW was founded by the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law and is an interdisciplinary teaching clinic, comprised of both lawyers and social workers, providing supervision and mentorship to law and social work students from the University of Windsor.​​
