Outreach Worker Position
Legal Assistance of Windsor (LAW) is seeking applicants for a part-time anti-human trafficking outreach worker position. This is an ongoing position, contingent on funding, which will be open as of September 1, 2021. The outreach worker will be part of our social work team and will engage in our program activities including client intakes, assessment, and intervention plans, as well as community outreach and public education.
LAW is an interdisciplinary clinic combining legal and social work professions to meet the multi-faceted needs of the low-income community in Windsor and Essex County. LAW is a joint service of the Faculty of Law, the University of Windsor and Legal Aid Ontario.
The successful candidate will have a Social Service Work diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with high needs/vulnerable individuals and two (2) years of direct experience working in a social service agency or equivalent. They will have a collaborative approach to their work and strong interpersonal skills. A strong interest in social justice and community development is preferred.
Compensation will be $27.75 hourly, with an expected workload of approximately 18 hours per week. This position typically requires flexibility with respect to scheduling, as well as reliable access to a car.
